Darling on the offensive

Some quick reaction to David Cameron's appearance on the Today programme this morning.

Chancellor Alistair Darling was very quick out of the blocks appearing on Sky news to tell the nation that he had "admitted" that efficiency savings would not be enough to fund the reversal of the planned National Insurance rise.

Adding that his comments "completely contradicted" his shadow chancellor,Mr Darlin said "He is going to have to find deeper cuts, some experts are saying tens of thousands of jobs will go"
