In praise of a Flat earth

I always thought that when the Flat Earth society was mentioned,it was a mere acronym for people who were stuck in their ways,conservative with a small C.

That is not the case as an article in BBC magazine makes perfectlt clear.Rather like those that believe in creationism,they defy the scientific logic of the evidence that the earth is indeed round.

Flat earth theory is still around. On the internet and in small meeting rooms in Britain and the US, flat earth believers get together to challenge the "conspiracy" that the Earth is round.

For them the earth is flat,horizontally infinite and it is at least 9,000 kilometres deep.The photos from space are faked and are part of a conspiracy involving Nasa and other space agencies.
