The runners and riders for McCain's VP

James Fraser takes a look at the runners and riders in the race to become John McCain's vice presidential runner.

He points out quite rightly that as McCain if elected will be the oldest president, then the choice could well become more than just a ceremonial one.

He are the runners and riders according to James

  1. Charlie Crist, Governor of Florida:
  2. Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana
  3. Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts
  4. Meg Whitman, former CEO of Ebay
  5. Sam Brownback, Senator from Kansas
  6. Fred Smith, founder and chairman of Fed Ex

Meanwhile also quite fascinating is that both McCain and Obama are rumoured to be chasing the New York major Michael Bloomberg as their VP.According to New York magazine

Speculation about the possibility of Mike for veep is nothing new, of course. It’s been bubbling ever since late February, when the mayor decided, once and for all, not to launch an independent bid for the White House. Yet, by and large, the ruminations have revolved not around Bloomberg’s being McCain’s running mate but Barack Obama’s.

I think Meg Whitman would be a great choice. I threw you a link from that post as well.
