This week's bear pit and a rare win for Brown

A major security breach at Westminster this morning as anti Heathrow protesters clamber on the roof of the Palace of Westminster,Gordon Brown faces Prime Ministers Questions.

But it was a case of missed opportunities and indirect questions both for the Tories and the Lib Dems

After being reminded by Kelvin Hopkins of Friday's vote on the Agency workers and the singing of the Red Flag.

David Cameron uses the occasion to focus on the problems of Parliament.Waffling around the issues of MP's pay, pension, and allowances it gets to the main points. Why not take a leaf out of the American book and succumb to live debates with the other party leaders? And why does the government not allow a referendum on the European Treaty?

Then Labour back benchers Gerald Kaufman slams the knife in by bringing up the issue of Cameron's rubbishing of the government's scheme for taking school children to Auchuvitz.

The Prime Minister welcomed Nick Clegg back to the chamber after yesterday's walk out and hoped that he would stay that bit longer to hear the answers.

Clegg as did Cameron used his question to bring in another agenda, that of the archiac practices of the House. The speaker had to remind him to be careful of waht he said,Clegg making it claer that it was practices and not people that he was refering to.

Incidently have a read of Ben Brogan's take on the Heathrow protestors

I will now devote the rest of my days to campaigning FOR a third runway at Heathrow, and preferably a fourth - through the gardens of these idiots.
