Anyone for tennis?

An important week for Gordon Brown is approaching.Once again set to relaunch starting with Lord Darzi's report into the NHS,he willnot be happy about the comments of former or current party members.

On Adam Boulton's show this morning,Lord Levy thought it highly unlikeley that he would be supporting Gordon Brown as the leader in the next general election.

"I must confess to being in shock about such rapid deterioration.
"It is difficult to put the blame on one person. But the buck ends up on one person's desk - the boss, the leader,"

Meanwhile his health secretary Alan Johnson has likened his performance using a tennis metaphor.He calls him a

tennis player happy to stay on the "outer courts" of Wimbledon normally frequented by lower-ranked players with little chance of victory.

Inconceivable that Brown didn't know about the loans

And themn just to cap it all,Lord Levy turns up on Andrew Marr's sofa this morning telling that it was inconceivable that Gordon Brown did not know about the loans linked to the cash for honours enquiry.

Levy was adamant in his remarks that Brown's position as head of the election campaign meant that he would have been fully aware of the funding position as would have Jack Dromey the treasurer at the time.

Of course Brown has the added complication that he told Parliament the same story so who is telling the truth here

Now Levy lays in the boot

And then there is Lord Levy.

Leaving aside the revelations that Carole Caplin liked to massage Tony Blair,the serialisation of his autobiography which is headlined in the Mail is not going to help Gordon's cause.

Tony Blair believes Gordon Brown "could never beat" Tory leader David Cameron in a General Election and is "disappointed" by Labour's slide under his successor

.says the paper adding that

Levy tells how Blair ended up believing that Brown was a "liar" who tried to use the scandal as a weapon to unseat him.

The party is going to be hit by a number of its ex top generals writing exposes.Blair has denied already saying any of these things.

Patrick Hennessey writing in the Telegraph says

Nobody should underestimate either the closeness of the relationship between Lord Levy and Tony Blair - or the bitterness that still exists between the peer and Gordon Brown.
