Hollingworth's Mancuniensis now available to view online

Exciting news for lovers of Manchester's rich history as Chetham's Library has announced that is the earliest surviving history of Manchester, tracing the origins of the town from Roman times until the 1650s has been published online.

Written by Richard Hollingworth who was a Presbyterian minister and who was one of the first feoffees appointed by Humphrey Chetham to oversee the setting up of his Hospital and Library,it attempts to record important events in the town of from its Roman or even Brigantine origins to the 1650s, and amounts to a curious combination of important evidence and sheer utter trivia.
