Balls' hand signals flatlines Cameron

Having just watched today's Prime Minister's questions,I was rather baffled by the continued hand signals being given by the shadow chancellor Ed Balls throughout the performance.

It turns out that they were meant to signal flatliner,a reference to the lack of growth in the economy.

They certainly appeared to get under the skin of the Prime Minister who as questions came to an end said that Balls could go on "making your questionable salute".

And I thought he was practicing his umpiring skills
