Halle beaten to the oldest award by the Scousers

Oh Dear,Manchester's Halle Orchestra have come to the attention of the Advertising Standard's agency.

According to the BBC,it was told it must not call itself the country's "longest-established permanent professional" organisation anymore.

To make matters worse and fan the flames of Mersey rivallry, the honour must go to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra which is deemed older.

Whilst the Halle was formed in 1858,its Liverpudlian rival began 18 years earlier, although the Halle says its competitor "an organisation that acted as a concert promoter, rather than being an orchestra".
