Call to Manchester’s Entrepreneurs

MMU’s Innospace has launched an ambitious programme to form and develop 5 high growth businesses in a single weekend.

Working with 20 individuals, the Innospace Accelerator Weekend aims to develop 5 new businesses on a Friday and Saturday such that they are ready to be presented to a select group of venture capitalists, business angels and startup mentors on the following Tuesday evening.

The programme will run on Friday 11th November and Saturday 12th November from Innospace – the incubator focused on startup businesses in the digital, media and knowledge space.

Innospace manager Richard Deighton commented “we have seen the effect of accelerator programmes in Silicon Valley and we want to replicate their success here in Manchester”.

The programme will be run and delivered by Idea Alive and uses a unique entrepreneur team assessment tool,eTeamTool, which was also developed in Manchester.

Programme leader and serial entrepreneur, Neil Lewis, said “we are not only looking for entrepreneurs with great ideas, but also for smart entrepreneurial people with commercial experience who want to join an exciting startup business”.

The reward for the three most successful businesses from the weekend programme will either be access to a full 10 week accelerator programme which is planned for the new year or help to access an alternative accelerator programme.

Entrepreneurs can apply online for one of the 20 spaces or attend a short preview event at Innospace on the 27th October at 12.30, 1st November at 1pm or 6pm or November 3rd at 6pm.
