Cynicism on the part of Gordon as he heads to Afghnanistan

It is not only former Prime Minister John Major who is unhappy about Gordon Brown's trip to Afghanistan yesterday so soon after his appearance in front of the Chilcott inquiry.

I still cant get over this today . Is this the most cynical stunt ever pulled by an “elected” politician ?

It has to be up there with

David Mellor parading his family at the front gates of his home , after being all over the tabloids scoring goals in a chelsea shirt and his khacks and Gummer force feeding his daughter with a beefburger in the middle of a BSE crisis .
