Pure coincidence that the day that the two brothers are at the centre of the Edlington case are sentenced on the same day that David Cameron attacks Labour’s “moral failure”.
The case of the two brothers is tragic and it won't help that the serious case review into the assault and torture has concluded the assault was a "preventable incident.”
The parallels to events over 15 years ago are uncanny however. The then shadow Home secretary,a certain Tony Blair used the example of the Bulger case to illustrate a breakdown in moral authority after 14 years of Tory rule.
Now Cameron has said the case of two young boys was not an "isolated incident of evil" but symptomatic of wider social problems.
