In his latest podcast from Number 10, the Prime Minister said: "National Grid has confirmed that it expects supplies to meet demand. I can assure you: supplies are not running out."
Mr Brown said the public should feel at ease regarding the country's gas situation as the UK owns large fuel reserves in the North Sea, in addition to access to further reserves in Norway and the Netherlands.
