Is the tide turning?

The results of the European elections will start coming in shortly but after his rousing speech to activists in East London this afternoon,he is in no mood to go.

Furthermore the BBC's Nick Robinson thinks that the tide may be turning.

According to Nick there are five reasons.

1.There is no sign of that list of rebel backbenchers

2.that James Purnell is not planning to do a Geoffrey Howe

3.Hazel Blears' resignation statement will focus on policy

4.Neither is Caroline Flint planning a resignation statement and

5.John Cruddas has stood up for him,

Unlike of course Lord Falcanor who on the BBC politics show says that the only way to achieve unity is for Brown to go.

But after this morning we know that Lord Mandelson is standing firmly at his side
