News of the World's snap poll on expenses

Anthony Wells is reporting a snap poll which will appear in the News of the World tomorrow in which 68% said that their opinion of Gordon Brown himself had been damaged following the expense revelations.

The poll must be taken with a pinch of salt, only 500 people were sampled in it but maybe MP's should take note of some of its findings

69% thought claiming travel expenses was okay and 59% thought staff costs were fine. Only 29% thought that allowances for a second home were acceptable, around 20% said they should be able to claim for food, 14% house repairs and 11% furniture.
