Gordon to tackle expenses

Of course, this is classic Brown. He has never been a friend of Parliament and with this proposal he is relying on the media being ahistorical and thinking simply that 'MPs second home allowance' plus 'big overhaul by Gordon Brown' equals 'easily digested headline and popular initiative'. Lost will likely be any sense that what he is up to in his desperation is fundamentally un-British and dangerous.


Iain Martin thinks that this is a distraction over at Three Line Whip and that maybe he should get on with running the country instead
