Not suprisingly with the G20 fast approaching, the Sunday papers are looking at fiscal issues.
According to the Times,Gordon Brown has found himself snubbed by the Germans.
Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, last night led the assault on the prime minister’s “global new deal” for a $2 trillion-plus fiscal stimulus to end the recession.
The Telegraph adds that
There were suspicions that the leak was a deliberate act of sabotage by sources within the German government, where Chancellor Angela Merkel is adopting a more cautious approach to fiscal moves to boost the national economy than Mr Brown, who will chair the summit.
The Independent says that
Gordon Brown last night took the gamble of raising expectations for the G20 Summit by pledging it would meet the concerns of protesters demanding fundamental change to haul the world out of recession.
The Observer reports that the chancellor is preparing to channel cash to poorer families in his budget as part of a mini-fiscal stimulus to kick-start the economy and protect the vulnerable.
As it is Sunday, there is much political sleeze, the News of the World has one a victory in the high court as the paper reports
DISGRACED sex romp MP Nigel Griffiths was covered in yet more shame last night-after a High Court Judge REJECTED his bid to SILENCE the News of the World's TRUE revelations of his antics inside the House of Commons.
The Mail on Sunday meanwhile spills the beans on the Home secretary,as it reveales that her husband used her Commons expenses allowance to pay to watch pornographic films.
The paper meanwhile launches a petition
to demand a full enquiry into MPs' expenses, to report within three months and NOT after the general election as is currently suggested.
Finally the Express reports on the latest pronouncements from Anjem Choudary who said on Friday that
the Sharia will be implemented in Pakistan, it will be implemented in India and Bangladesh and even down the road in Downing Street.”
