The Observer prepares the country for more economic shocks as it predicts that this week, unemployment is expected to burst through the 2 million barrier.

It reports that

Startling new figures have revealed that on average there are 10 jobseekers for every vacancy advertised in the UK. In one area of the south-east, 60 workers are available for each job


The Sunday Times look sback to one of the big stories of the week reporting that Anjem Choudary, who led protests against returning British troops, has urged his followers to send money to 'mujaheddin'

According to the Mail,which has been leaked a secret report on the blunders that caused the tragedy of Baby P,

the true scale of incompetence by the authorities - and the appalling injuries suffered by the little boy - were censored by the disgraced social services chief blamed for the tragedy, with the full backing of the Government.


More expensive alcohol is on the way according to the Telegraph.The paper says that the Government's most senior doctor has drawn up plans for a minimum price for alcohol, which would double the costs of some drinks.
