IMF bring more bad news

With unemployment climbing above two million, the last thing that the government wanted to hear was the IMF telling everyone that Britain will be one of the last countries to come out of recession.

Very little sign of green shoots in 2010 as the international bank forecasts that the economy will shrink by a further 0.2 per cent next year.

That on top of this years revised forecast for a contraction of 3.8 per cent,a full point higher than it forecast in January.

By 2010 only Japan of the big economies will still be in recession.

Whatever happened to this country being best placed?
