The papers are cocerned about the United States threats to the UK over intelligence

The Telegraph reports that

Two High Court judges issued a scathing attack on the White House after it emerged that the US threatened to withdraw all intelligence co-operation from Britain if details of the treatment of Binyam Mohamed were made public.


The Guardian says that

The government was accused last night of hiding behind claims of a threat to national security to suppress evidence of torture by the CIA on a prisoner still held in Guantánamo Bay.


The Independent headline is the High Street for sale as it reports that a large section of the British high street was in effect put up for sale yesterday as the Icelandic retail group Baugur filed for protection from its creditors

The Times leads with an exclusive as it claims that the Royal Bank of Scotland, rescued with £20bn of public money, is planning large bonuses for thousands of its City traders.

Golliwogate continues to dominate the headlines,the Mail claims that the BBC has been accused of taking its revenge on Baroness Thatcher by sacking her daughter Carol for saying 'golliwog'.

The Sum meanwhile discovers that a shop on the Sandringham estate has been selling golliwogs for £10,the paper says that

Shocked royal aides instantly ordered the gollies be removed from shelves at the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk after we told them.
