Shutting the stable door

Whilst I applaud Gordon Brown's article in this morning's Observer in which he pleads for a return to the basics of banking,it does not disguise the fact that for 10 years as Chancellor he openly supported a system of deregulation.

Let's us not not forget that the culture of live now pay later was actively encouraged,that the advantages of a deregulated city of London were propagated and that turning the country into a haven for financial services was preferred.

The words are good

Our future lies in low-carbon, high- technology manufacturing and services. Hence our investment in science, green jobs, skills and the digital backbone on which the rest of the economy depends.
but the sentiment is frankly too late
