The Americans seem to take great delight in the public grilling and catching the footage of Lehman brother's Richard Fuld being grilled by a Congressional committee ,I found it rather akin to the women who knitted by the guillotine.
Is this really necessary at this time?What purpose does it serve other than inflicting a public humiliation of a billionaire.
When the history of this crisis is being written,I am certain that the greed of the capitalist bankers will play its part.
It may be the the pictures in the books will be of Mr Fuld with a caption,$480m but he brought down a 158 year institution.
However at this time,surely politicians have more important things to address?
