I am sure that there is no connection but as Private Eye would say-I wonder whether they are in any way related.
This from Telegraph.co.uk
Paul Krugman, an American professor, has been awarded the Nobel prize for economics -hours after writing that Gordon Brown might have saved the world financial system.
In his Monday column in the New York Times he asks
Has Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, saved the world financial system?....
the Brown government has shown itself willing to think clearly about the financial crisis, and act quickly on its conclusions. And this combination of clarity and decisiveness hasn’t been matched by any other Western government, least of all our own.
Maybe the fact that he is what was unfashionable until the last few weeks a "Neo Keynsian economist" may have helped as well.
