It's official. The public blame Brown for the recession

More worrying news for Gordon Brown comes in this morning's Harris Poll in the Ft.

Believe it or not the public blame him for the economic slowdown etc etc etc

More than three-quarters of respondents said the government bore at least some of the blame for the downturn and its consequences, with 56 per cent believing ministers had a lot of, or complete, responsibility.
said the survey

Added to that some 25% of solid Labour voters may well vote for somebody else next time.As the paper says if the poll is a fair representation then

The downturn could prove a significant barrier to Mr Brown achieving his confident prediction of last week that Labour was “going to go on and win”.
