It may not be China yet....but

With more and more coverage turning to China with the opening ceremony just hours away,it is worth reading Dominic Lawson in this morning's Indy.

No he is not talking about China but about our own country Britain.

In four years' time, however, it will be our turn to come under the scrutiny of the international media, when they arrive en masse in London to report on the Games of the Thirtieth Olympiad.
and whilst

They will not find any psychiatric wards in which the "patients" are given electric shocks for the invented condition of "political monomania".
they will find

a country whose people have become increasingly pestered and persecuted by a distended and inflexible empire of officials.


Now Dominic is not saying that Britain is anything like China nor is picking up the David Davies arguments or writing for the Daily Mail.

But like a growing band of people he sees life being increasingly interrupted by a petty bureaucracy
