Did Mrs Thatcher know where she was last year

There has been much on Carol Thatcher's revelations about her mother's illness from views that it is a heartfelt written account of a struggle with Dementia(regardless of politics it is a sad situation where a women has to be constantly reminded of her husband's death) to accusations of Carol simply jumping on the gravy train.

The problem is of course the word Thatcher and its connotations. The furore over the possibility of her state funeral was one major example of this.

Over at Three Line Whip though James Kirkup explores another avenue and looks to her appearance o the steps of Downing Street with Gordon Brown last year.

He asks the question

reading the story of how she now regards Grantham as her home once again and the various other confusions and blank spots she experiences, I can't help but think back to her appearance in No 10 last year, a visit that Gordon Brown's team sought to use as part of his preparations for his aborted snap election.
