A year is a long time

On the subject of the electio that never was,Rosa Prince has an insight into the mind of David Cameron,

Reporting from the end of term Lobby drinks party last night she tells us

Indulging in a little light nostalgia, he compared the Tories' fortunes now (riding high in the polls, Government in melt-down) with the same period a year ago (full-on Brown honey moon, flood waters about to descent on Witney).
"William Hague warned me that if he was smart, Gordon would go for a snap election in early October, just after the conferences - and that he would win.
"So I spent the whole summer just hoping and praying that he wouldn't go for it."
adding

It would have taken a lot of courage for Gordon to risk everything after such a short period, particularly seeing as he'd waited so long to become Prime Minister, but it would have been the right thing to do - he would definitely have won."

But roles reversed what would he have done

So, I asked, would he have been bold in Brown's position?
There was a long pause. "I like to think so, yes," he said.
