As MP's failed to tackle the issues of expenses for second homes, there were reports of fractious exchanges in the lobby and according to the same paper
One Labour MP allegedly told David Cameron to '**** off' for forcing his top team to back the overhaul, while Shadow Chancellor George Osborne was involved in a stand-up row with one of the Prime Minister's aides.
What will be more embarrassing is that a number of cabinet ministers voted against the changes which would have seen a rejection of the so called John Lewis list which allows members to claim £24,000 of exepenses for their second home.
Among them,Jacqui Smith, Andy Burnham,, Shaun Woodward, Paul Murphy, and Caroline Flint.
Have MP's missed a golden opportunity here, well probably.I am sure that in the eyes of many there are justifications for keeping the system. However, set against the general economic outlook for the ordinary person, the move looks rather stupid.
