What MP's will be voting on

I think that the next couple of days will show Parliament in its true colours,a lively debate with party affiliations largely forgotten.

MP's will be debting and voting on four issues

  1. Hybrid Embryos-This is probably the hardest to call with MP's allowed a free vote. The arguments for being that this step will lead to scientific breakthrough's in tackling some of the worst diseases. Its opponents are driven by those that think we are tampering with nature. The debate starts at 3.30 with a vote three hours later
  2. Saviour siblings-again very controversial. In layman's terms this is the creation of embryos because they have a related sick brother or sister. The main critisism is that life is being created for the wrong reason
  3. The role of fathers in IVF treatment. This is essentially the argument over whether lesbian couples should have the right to this treatment. Its opponents say that a child should be brought up in a traditional environment
  4. Abortion. This is an amendable table by those who believe that at 24 weeks, the current legislation is ignoring medical facts that say the foetus can survive at this age.Opponents say that they are ignoring medical evidence.
