Not suprisingly little change on Manchester City Council,Labour winning 2 seats but losing two others.
In the Newton Heath and Miles Plating ward,Lib Dem candidate Damien O'Connor unseated Labour's Christine Carroll with a majority of nearly 200.
The Tories are still without a councillor apart from Faraz Bhatti who defected from the Liberal Democrats.
But there was little change across the city.In Longsight,Labour took the seat from the Lib Dems with a majority 1147 but lost in Northenden to the Liberals.
In Greater Manchester, as predicted, Bury was captured by the Tories, but failed to take Oldhamwhich went to No Overall Control and Bolton which also remains in no overall control.
Salford saw Roger Jones one of the champions of the congestion charge lose his seat coming in third in Irlam.Labour lost six councillors in Salford ,two to the Tories and three to the Lib Dems.
The lowest turnout was in the city centre where just 15% decided to bother to vote
