Blame the EU

So now the global economic crisis can be blamed on the European Agricultural policy.

Alistair Darling appeared to put it bluntly a bumbling fool on the Today programme, the fall guy trying to repair a gravely damaging episode for the Labour party.

Reminded that he had now broken the government's fiscal rules over borrowing which was not for growth,he hid behind the usual gov speak of 12 years of economic growth, best placed country for riding the recession, overseas pressure on prices etc etc etc.

He left his best for the end though as he launched into a tirade of rising food prices being down to bio fuel policy which he laid firmly at the door of Brussels.
