Goat to resign

This morning's front page of the Times reveals that a GOAT is not happy with the economic policies of Gordon Brown.

Lord Jones of Birmingham, government spokesman and founder member of the government of all talents will be standing down before the next election.Rumour has it that he will find it impossible to campiagn for Labour.

According to the paper

Lord Jones made the comments at a private meeting on January 29 in Great Smith Street in Westminster. About ten businessmen and lobbyists were present, and The Times has spoken to two people who attended the event.
Asked how long he would remain a minister, Lord Jones said that he would leave well before an election campaign got under way because he did not want to be asked by the media whether he was supporting Mr Brown.
He did not plan to offer his allegiance to any party, but felt that his failure to answer the question would lead the media to suggest that he was abandoning Mr Brown.

Of course how news worthy this is is debatable.Lord Joneshad already made quite clear that this was a one off term appointment with a finite end.He had also refused to join the Labour party.Nevertheless on a day of more bad economic news this is not going to help
