McCain on the way,A Dream ticket for the Democrats

With most of the results now in from the Super Tuesday Primaries, the Republicans have moved closer to selecting their candidate for November but the Democratic fight still has a long way to go.

Former pilot and Vietnam veteran John McCain had a good night but failed to deliver the final knock out blow against either of his main rivals.Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama traded states and delegates during the night but with less than 100 delegates between them the signs are that this one will go all to the wire.

Clinton appears to have the edge, taking California, the prestige state with the most delegates and New York but Obama won the most states.

For MCcain, who has 475 of the required 1175 delegates, there is still over 20 states to go but the momentum on his side take him to the finishing line.

What does this mean. For the Republicans,McCain needs to unite a sceptical party ,which sees him as a Liberal on many issues, behind him.

For the Democrats, perhaps they need to look at the dream ticket of Clinton and Obama, seemingly what a lot of Democrats want but which the candidates themselves are a long way from.
